The beginnings of TEFAG Elektronik AG date back to the early 1990s. Today, the company is a well-known Swiss service provider for customized battery packs and electronic engineering services.
2023
To date, TEFAG Elektronik AG has installed over 8 million lithium-ion cells. This corresponds to a weight of almost 300 tons and an energy of 60 megawatt hours. Strung together, the cells cover a distance of 520 kilometers (from Zurich to Prague).
2019
TEFAG designs and produces products on behalf of customers for the dental, hearing aid, medical, sanitary, veterinary and various other industries. The Mels-based company employs around 25 people. In the last 10 years, TEFAG has also made a name for itself in the field of rechargeable battery technology. The battery packs are developed and produced in Switzerland. Today, customers all over the world buy TEFAG products.
2012
TEFAG is successfully certified according to ISO 9001 and the environmental standard ISO 14001.
2009
The founders sell the company to the German company RAWE Electronic in Allgäu for reasons of age. The new managing director Werner Suter successfully developed the company as a specialist for customized rechargeable batteries.
1992
TEFAG Elektronik is founded by Alex Mauerhofer and Jakob Stark as a service provider in the fields of technology consulting, development and production management (hence TEFAG). They run the company successfully until 2009.
